Alright, I'm back already!! I have also been working on a few purses after a friend of mine asked for a small bag that she could carry her stuff in that would rest on her hip. I've seen these crocheted bags before and longed after them myself.
A great pattern that's easy to comprehend. Some patterns just seem so hard to read, but I didn't have a single problem with this one at all =)

If you don't have the time or skill to make this stuff, I do make these to sell. You can choose your own colors and my prices are beyond fair, some would say super cheap. I know, I'm shameless =D lol. Thanks for your time!!

DIY Lava Lamp
Still feeling kind of yucky so I've been surfin' the interwebs to find something to post for all my lovelies!! I found a GREAT DIY lava lamp that's easy to make. I'm very seriously considering doing this for my son's second birthday party this summer. I'll be searching for some spring time crafts for tomorrow!!
- Fill your bottle about two thirds of the way with oil and the rest of the way with water, leaving about an inch free at the top. NOTE: We liked watching the water layer sink to the bottom, but we had to wait a while for the bubbles to disappear for the next step. Adding the water first, then the food coloring, and finally the oil wasn’t quite as fun, but it was a bit faster.
- Add several drops of food coloring. (If you did the oil first, then the water, it’ll take a little while for the drops of food coloring to “break through” and tint the water.)
- Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet into three or four pieces. Then drop a piece in and watch the magic.
- As soon as the tablet hits the layer of water, it will start to fizz and the colored water will erupt!
- The bubbles will stop as soon as the tablet dissipates, but they’ll will start up again as soon as you add another tablet. If the oil layer starts to become cloudy with tiny bubbles, just let it settle for a while. Then you can do some more.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Monday and I'll see you later today or tomorrow!!

Hot Toddy for a sick mommy
I find myself feeling yucky and stuffy this morning so maybe we should find a recipe for a good hot toddy!!! I always find myself passing up recipes because I just don't happen to have cinnamon sticks in my spice cabinet among other things. I managed to find a simply one =) My husband may find himself going to the store a little later lol!!
Ingredients:
Preparation:
- Coat the bottom of a mug or an Irish coffee glass with honey.
- Add the liquor and the juice of the lemon quarter.
- On the side, heat water in a tea kettle and add the tea bag to make hot tea.
- Pour the steaming tea into the glass and stir.

Just for the record, I'd LOVE an Irish coffee glass. I hope everyone has a great day!! I'm going to curl up in my chair and crochet until I fall asleep

Welcome!!
Well, here goes nothing... I wanted to create a safe place for parents to come and vent after a long day, a place where they could find new recipes to try out, a place you can find cool crafts to do with your kids, a place a real parent can come to and say, "Hey, I have this problem. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?" I have found myself, on several occasions, wishing I had someone to talk to about my son without fear of being condemned as a "bad mom" and facebook is just not the place to do that lol!!
So here I stand, arms open, saying "Welcome" to all the parents who have swatted their kids on the butt, who have had to give their toddlers a bath at 9 in the morning because they smeared poop all over their thighs. I say share your embarrassing stories, I have plenty of my own that I'll be sharing along the way. This blog is as much yours as it is mine.
All that being said, there are rules that WILL be followed... If a parent on here shares something you disagree with, please, keep it to yourself unless you can pass on constructive criticism without seeming like an ass. This is a safe place for EVERYONE. Please remember that. So, here we go =) Let's see if I can get this thing figured out!!
If you'd like to send me things you'd like posted on our blog, questions, recipes, craft ideas, you name it, please send me an email at shandi.holderfield@gmail.com =) I also crochet so if you'd like your patterns posted, please, feel free to send those as well!!!
